Problem With Times 100 Most Influential List

So what is my problem with the list? My problem is that people who should not be influential or at least as influential are in the top 100 and Anna Wintour, the most powerful and influential person in the fashion industry is ranked at 122. 122! When people such as Lady Gaga(1), Snooki(16), Seth MacFarlane(39), Susan Boyle(58), Bristol Palin(84), Adam Lambert(90),and Kanye West(95). Seriously this is who we look up to people who are just plain ugh! Lets compare style of the Most Influential, Lady Gaga, to 122, Anna Wintour.

Lady Gaga wears high fashion for big events, here she is wearing Spring 2010 Valentino. But why does she have that bow hair? Who wants to sport that?
Anna and Gaga share a mutual love for Marc Jacobs (if Gaga touches fall 2010 I will have to take matters into my own hands). This has the potential to be a good look but she should not have done Betty White Golden Girls hair, dropped the fishnets and the sunglasses.
And then there is this I have nothing more to say than that

Then we have Anna Wintour. I choose some of her more off the wall looks like this Chanel Couture from the 2008 Costume Institute Gala. This dress is very conceptual but elegant and there is not to much going on; no crazy hair, make-up, or accessories.
and here in Armani Prive, Anna just exudes elegance.
And Anna can make a T-shirt look high fashion. Here Anna supports Fashions Night Out (this year to be held on Sptember 10th in NYC and around the world) wearing the T-shirt but paired with a Spring 2009 Prada skirt.

Now please tell me who you think the more infuential person. If you have not figured it out by now I'm voting Anna Wintour, strictly based on the fact that she is the MOST powerful woman in fashion, if you don't believe me then please watch "The September Issue."

Fall 2010 Must Have: Fur Coat

The big trend for Fall 2010 is fur, which must have PETA in an uproar. My philisophy when it comes to fur is this Faux is Fabulous, Vintage is Amazing, and New is gross. You may ask why I think vintage is Amazing well I feel that if the animal is going to be dead by now anyway then what the problem is, would you jusst let a dead animals amazing coat go to watse. Lets take a look at what some of the desigers did with fur for the Fall 2010 Runway.
Marc Jacobs brought back the golden age of Hollywood with his Fall 2010 Collection and I feel that if this collection was from 1945 then we would have seen this coat on the likes of Bette Davis or Katherine Hepburn. The coat as a whole is not covered in fur but has nice chunks on the collar, hem, and cuffs.
Gucci went more with a marabou feather (LOVE) and a 1970's vibe with the collection for Fall 2010. I am partial because I love feather coats, but this is one of my favorite coats for Fall 2010.
Karl Lagerfeld runs the show at Fendi and has for a long time. He has never stopped from using real fur as seeing on of Fendi's signatures is fur. But surprisingly Karl opted to use Faux Fur in his collections this year (Yes that means at Chanel as well), which gives him a giant check mark in my book. I could very well see a modern Cruella DeVille in this coat.
The Fall 2010 Collection from Peter Dundas for Emilio Pucci also brought the 1970's influence. This is another one of my favorite coats from Fall 2010, this would be perfect for Kate Moss, we need to see her out of Topshop for once I feel every time she steps out she's in some form of Topshop.
This Dennis Basso coat is just freaking amazing. Dennis is the King of Fur in NYC, he incorporates it into every season be it Fall or Spring. If there was going to be a Devil Wears Prada II then this would be one of the coats they would give Miranda Priestly.
And fianlly the Chewbacka DISATER that was Chanel. Thank GOD Karl used Faux Fur for this collection because he sent about 7 giant fur balls down the ice-way as it was. I'm sorry but this just puts the icing on the cake of Not Everything Chanel Makes Is Meant To Be WORN!

So what are the reader opinions on the Fur trend? Also note that comments are open to anyone who wants not just blogger subscribers, I did this because I want your feedback so I can improve the site. So please leave me feedback!

Best of the Week of March 29th to April 3rd

The red carpets this week were a little underwhelming, but alas there were a few stand out moments.
The best of the week in my own opinion was the lovely Dita Von Teese who walked the red carpet on the opening night of her show at the Crazy Horse Paris at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The always stunning Mrs Von Teese wore this amazing red Elie Saab Spring 2010 gown. I love when she wears red because it always looks amazing against her skin tone.
Alex Davalos is one of the stars of "Clash of the Titans" so she walked the the LA premiere red carpet wearing Spring 2010 Ralph Lauren. This is not really a gown but a floor length black chiffon skirt with an amazing train and a back satin backless waitcoat. For the sheer difference in the fact that it is not a basic black gown is why she has taken the 2nd Place spot on this list.
The big red carpet event this week was the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. Nickelodeon star Miranda Cosgrove jumped on to the Christian Siriano bandwagon when she showed up in a dress from in Fall 2010 collection. The dress was modified from the runway version which had a giant mass of fabric on the hip that would have overwhelmed her. This modification won Miranda the 3rd place award this week.
Gemma Arteron is also in the new movie "Clash of the Titans." She promoted the film walking the premiere red carpet in London wearing a Gucci Spring 2010 LBD. The dress is amazing and one of my favorites from this collection. The only thing that made her not make my top 3 was the small tight bun on the top of her head, it was just awkward for me. So with that I award Gemma the 4th place spot.
Phil Collins daughter Lily Collins was also in atttendance at the Kids Choice Awards. She opted to wear this colorful Spring 2010 Tibi dress. The dress is so age appropriate, Lily will you please show Miley Cyrus your closet, and fun. The way that Lily took a fun dress that is off the rack and rocked it makes her round out the Best of the Week list in 5th place

Red Carpet Diva: Dita Von Teese

What do I say about this stunning woman? Dita is elegant and graceful yet super sexy. Dita's style is of this 1940's 1950's sex symbol. But I do swear she is at her high point in the wrong decade. I could see Miss Von Teese palling around Paris in the 1940's with people such as Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, and Cristobal Balengciaga. When Dita steps onto the red carpet she always wows me, and with the Cannes Film Festival coming up in about a month and a half, I can't wait to see what Haute Couture she wears. Lets take a look back at some of her past red carpet moments...

Best Dressed of the Week of March 14th

1) Zoe Saldana made her way on to my Best Dressed of the Week list, and is in my own opinion the best of the week. Zoe traveled back to the Dominican Republic to accept the International Cassandra Award for Most Outstanding Artist Abroad award wearing a Spring 2010 Amanda Wakeley gown.
2) Sarah Jessica Parker attended the ShoWest Film Festivals closing ceremony in this Fall 2010 Marchesa dress. Just to rant for a second is SJP not the new creative director for Halston Heritage? Anyway SJP looked stunning and youthful in this dress which I would have had pinned for a young starlet such as Taylor Swift or Selena Gomez, but I think that this has everything SJP is about. Oh and I must mention that this hair makes up for that horrific thing she wore to the Oscars.
3) Sarah Jessica Parker in Lanvin Spring 2010. This dress is so not what I would expect from SJP but she delivered, again not wearing her Halston Heritage line, at the ShoWest WB Presentation.
4) Ali Larter at the Acura ZDX Redefines Next Event in LA wearing Brian Reyes Spring 2010. This dress is wicked awesome and Ali rocked it.
5) Jennifer Aniston in Spring 2010 Donna Karan. I was shocked when I first saw this picture of Jenn, why you may ask, because Jenn usually wears black on the red carpet. So when I saw this on her I was like THANK GOD.
6) Beyonce joined Alicia Keys on stage at her "Freedom" tour stop at Madison Square Garden to preform "Put It In A Love Song." Beyonce choose the same Spring 2010 Dolce & Gabbana dress that Blake Lively wore to the Sherlock Holmes New York Premiere. I'm not sure who worked it better but this looked stunning on B.
7) Emilie de Ravin in Oscar de la Renta Spring 2010 at the "Remember Me" London premiere. This is just another take on the LBD but it has this perfect balance of vintage style and modern taste.
8) And then on Friday, Kristen Davis attended ShoWest in 2 Pre-Fall 2010 Oscar de la Renta dresses. Out of the two this was my favorite. This was one of my favorite pieces from this collection. The dress is age-appropriate yet with a hint of sex-appeal.
9) WOW, a LoveIt or HateIt first, Kristen Stewart was not hated. Kristen wore this sequined Emilio Pucci mini dress to the New York premiere of "The Runaways." My only criticism is I wish she had not worn her black Sergio Rossi pumps with this, much would have preferred her to wear to have worn either silver or gold pumps. But K Stew did give her mullet the night off.
10) Finally Janet Jackson appeared on Jay Leno this week in the first look from Donna Karan's Spring 2010 collection. The suit was elegant and sexy all at the same time.

Who was your best this week?
